South Africa Thrash Afghanistan in Dominant Semi-Final Display: Proteas March into T20 World Cup 2024 Final!


South Africa defeated Afghanistan by 9 wickets in the first semifinal of the 2024 T20 World Cup in Trinidad. Batting first, Afghanistan were bowled out for just 56 runs in 11.5 overs, with Marco Jansen and Tabraiz Shamsi taking 3 wickets each. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje also shared 4 wickets between them as South Africa's bowlers ran through the Afghan batting lineup.

In reply, South Africa chased down the target in 8.5 overs, losing just 1 wicket. Reeza Hendricks scored 29 not out while Aiden Markram made 23 not out. Naveen-ul-Haq was the only wicket-taker for Afghanistan.

Marco Jansen was awarded the Player of the Match for his excellent bowling figures of 3/16. South Africa's clinical performance, their 8th straight win in the tournament, took them to their first ever T20 World Cup final. Afghanistan's batting let them down in the big semifinal match.
