Three years have crawled by since the epic clash between Godzilla and Mechagodzilla. Peace, albeit tense, has settled. Godzilla, the radioactive alpha predator, maintains order among the Titans – colossal ancient creatures – by eliminating threats like the monstrous Scylla in Rome. Meanwhile, Kong, the mighty primate, thrives in his new home – the Hollow Earth, a vast subterranean world teeming with life.
Unease stirs within Monarch, the organization dedicated to studying Titans. A strange signal emanates from the Hollow Earth, causing visions and headaches for Jia, the last of Skull Island's Iwi people, who now lives with Dr. Ilene Andrews. The signal also disrupts Godzilla, hinting at something powerful awakening.
On a Monarch expedition deep within the Hollow Earth, scientists stumble upon a hidden civilization – remnants of an ancient human society that co-existed with Titans. They discover murals depicting a colossal, ice-wielding Titan locked in an epic battle with a primal ancestor of Godzilla. It seems this icy Titan, perhaps a long-dormant threat, is stirring once more.
Meanwhile, Kong explores the Hollow Earth, encountering other members of his kind for the first time. However, their reunion is short-lived. The monstrous tremor caused by the awakened ice Titan disrupts their peaceful existence, forcing Kong to flee back to the surface world to warn Godzilla.
Jia, interpreting her visions, pleads with Dr. Andrews to contact Godzilla. Using Monarch technology based on ancient human knowledge, they manage to establish a psychic link with the King of the Monsters. Godzilla understands the threat and sets off for the Hollow Earth entrance.
Kong, arriving on the surface world, encounters a restless Godzilla, who misinterprets his presence as a challenge. A fierce battle ensues, shaking cities and causing panic. However, the psychic link established by Jia allows her to intervene. Through fragmented visions, she reveals the true enemy – the icy Titan.
Understanding the bigger threat, Godzilla and Kong form an uneasy truce. Together, they descend back into the Hollow Earth, leading a combined force of Titans against the monstrous glacier Titan. A spectacular showdown unfolds deep within the Earth's crust, with Godzilla unleashing his atomic breath and Kong utilizing his agility and newfound connection with his kin.
The battle reaches a climax as the icy Titan unleashes a devastating blizzard. Just as all seems lost, Kong, inspired by the ancient murals, discovers a powerful energy source within the Hollow Earth. He channels this energy, weakening the icy Titan and allowing Godzilla to deliver a final, decisive blow. Victorious but battered, Godzilla and Kong return to their respective domains, a newfound respect forged between them.
The film concludes with a sense of hope. Humanity learns more about its past connection with Titans, and a fragile peace is established between them. However, the ending might leave a hint – perhaps another ancient Titan stirs in the depths, foreshadowing future conflicts.
